I'll keep checking back for more tidbits!!Beccahttp://www.thebatesmotel3.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-621801960980381156.post-89207681033767908782011-06-10T11:36:02.924-05:002011-06-10T11:36:02.924-05:001) Don't worry about follower/follow ratio as ...1) Don't worry about follower/follow ratio as long as you're not following WAY more than that is following you. You'll be cut off at 2,000 if you're ratio isn't close.

2) Follow who YOU want, don't feel pressured into following everyone who follows you.

3) Search out similar likes and ideas.

4) As for hashtags, ones I use frequently are:
#fail
#help
#canada
#FF (Friend Follow) it's a shout-out to thank people for following you, engaging with you, etc. but ALWAYS say why you're listing them in the #FF
#church

I also make up my own, like: #idontwanttogetoutofbed :) it's a statement hashtag - less useful - more for effect.

5) Make lists!!!! it helps to keep everyone organized into lists so you know why you're following them.

I have lists for Pastor Wives (PW), for those who go to church (church twits), those I've met up at a bloggers conference (blissdomcanada) and so on.

:)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01916769172354299912noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-621801960980381156.post-13958162188387603182011-06-10T11:29:07.485-05:002011-06-10T11:29:07.485-05:00Actually, it is better to have more people followi...Actually, it is better to have more people following you than who you are following. There is no reason for those numbers to be equal.

The key to twitter is to decide what you want to use it for . . . possible goals:

a) communicate to a select group of people - I used to use it for my soccer team
b) market a product/company
c) personal entertainment
d) promotion of other social media, such as a blog

Figuring out what you want to do is the first step. Then you can decide if your goal is to grow your followership, simply follow people you enjoy or generate "buzz" for your blog, etc. Understanding hashtags are a major part of Twitter.Joshua Caucutthttp://www.sounchurch.orgnoreply@blogger.com
