Why 'Pocket Lint'?

When Polly was born, it was my husband's turn to pick the name as I was out of names for girls.

Sergei picked Polina. It is a common Ukrainian name.

It means "little one."

Right away we started shortening her name to "Polly." Our two older girls loved Polly Pocket, and we thought it was cute to call her that because she was little enough to fit in your pocket.

This blog consists of thoughts and feelings and reactions left over from parenting four little girls, two of whom have Down syndrome, one of whom came to our family through international adoption, and just recently, one of whom has been diagnosed with Moyamoya syndrome, a life threatening disease.

This is my pocket lint.
