I was doing fine this week preparing for Polly's first brain surgery for her Moyamoya. And then about a half hour ago a nurse from Children's called and gave me the needed info about tomorrow's schedule.
Now I am shaking.
Polly's surgery is scheduled for 7:45am tomorrow (Thursday, December 17th). It should last for three hours and then Polly will probably be in the hospital recovering for three or four days.
I've heard that there will be some swelling and recovery will be challenging for Polly. Some kids are nauseous at first and other have headaches.
But the time has come for this surgery and I know that although I can barely breath right now, God loves Polly so much more than we do. He is holding her in the palm of his hand.
Please be praying. We so appreciate it!
I'll try to update tomorrow.
Praying for Polly. Praying for the surgeon and his steady guided hand. Praying for mama and daddy. (((((hugs))))

I am praying for her!
ReplyDeleteI will be praying from 7:50 Eastern (when I drop my kids off) until 11:30 with nothing else on my plate except you all and Polly. And I'll be setting an alarm to make sure I don't forget to then show up at the school for holiday parties at 11:30! My prayer for you:
ReplyDeleteFather, we know you have your hand on Polly and Gillian and Sergei, and that you love them each more than we can fathom. I ask specifically for your hand of healing on Polly tomorrow. For peace and steadiness for the team working with her. For compassion to flow from every nurse, doctor, and hospital worker that they encounter tomorrow. I pray comfort and knowledge over the entire Marchenko family that they will see your hand at work in mighty ways and will know when to act and when to wait upon you. I also pray for a pain free recovery for Polly, that she will overcome any odds against her and will have a magnificent transformation which bypasses the difficulties of the surgery. Father, most of all I pray that your presence will be known and your will done. You are the breath of life. Help everyone to breathe through you tomorrow and in the days that follow. Bless the Marchenkos and allow them to be a blessing to another family that needs to know you're here, you're real, and you care for each and every one of us. Hold Polly in the palm of your hand as she undergoes surgery tomorrow. Amen.
Gillian, we are praying for you and I'm going to be asking the people from the prayer ministry I belong to as well.

ReplyDeleteTry homeopathic arnica for post-surgery. It's really good for bruising and shock of any kind. In Canada we can get it in health food stores.
Hang on and remember you are also held
