Looking forward to Lent
I'm hoping that some semblance of normal will now ensue over our household. Of course my definition of 'normal' has changed quite a few times in our almost twelve years of marriage but it's calm I'm after. And health. So heading into Lent this week I hope to read the Bible more, pray more, watch less TV, avoid coffee, enjoy my family, write a bit every day and ponder the grace of God.
And pray for calm.
Are any of you participating in Lent this year? If so, how?

We are thinking, and as we take our anniversary trip, we hope to make a better plan. When does Lent start?
ReplyDeleteMy husband will do the Daniel Fast...but I am just going to be vegetarian. That vegan fast is a killer for my protein loving self!
ReplyDeleteI participate every year! This year I am committed to exercising every day, drink less coffee and soda, eat better, and be more patient with my kids. I know this sounds like things that I should be doing every day, but sometimes these above things are just difficult for me, so I will work on them!
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to get a few minutes alone each day with the Bible, a journal and some quiet prayer. It's been a challenge already as each time I sit down I fall asleep or close to it. I'm working through Eugene Petersen's The Message translation starting with Matthew. I'm also trying not to yell.
